Matt Di Pasquale, a senior at Harvard, class of 2009, is pursuing his Bachelors degree in Computer Science. Matt is a star forward on the Harvard Junior Varsity Ice Hockey Team and also plays intramural hockey, soccer, and flag football for Dunster House. Matt is often spotted riding around campus on his skateboard. He also enjoys yoga, playing basketball, and lifting weights. Matt worked in the Science Center as a Computer User Assistant last semester. Sophomore spring, Matt played the Mute in the musical The Fantasticks. Freshman year, he was awarded a cash prize for his excellent performance in the 2005 Harvard Chess Open.

Born in Alabama, Matt is the youngest of five, with two brothers and two sisters. At the age of one, he moved with his family to Westport, CT. After his sophomore year at Staples High School, he transferred to Kent School, a prep school in Kent, CT. There, Matt received the 2003 Williams College Book Award for excellence in academics and extracurriculars.

With virtually flawless grades and SAT scores, Matt scored fives on ten Advanced Placement Exams, including BC Calculus, Statistics, Chemistry, Physics, Economics, and Computer Science. His senior year, he was awarded the Certificate of Distinction by the AIME and nominated for the US Physics Team. He also became an Intel STS Semifinalist and a Siemens Competition Regional Finalist for his research at SUNY Stony Brook in single-electron devices.

As a rookie for the Staples Varsity Ice Hockey Team, Matt became the team’s leading scorer and assister and was selected First-Team All-Area. At Kent, he went on to play Varsity Hockey, Varsity Golf, and Junior Varsity Soccer. He also founded and captained the Chess Team and performed at piano recitals.

Often quiet and reserved in new social situations, when Matt warms up and feels comfortable, he shows his true colors. And they shine bright. This website is a way for Matt to really express himself and to share things with you. Enjoy!
